Who we are

onlinechalk is a one-stop solution for personalized tutoring, test prep and college admission counseling to students. Our mission is to help every student achieve their potential by providing them with personalized attention from skilled professionals. We wish to level out the playing field when it comes to education.

We are a women-owned-women-led company which was born during the COVID pandemic when many parents were distressed about their children’s education. We are very supportive of women tutors who are enthusiastic about teaching but cannot pursue careers in conventional setups. Our team is built on dedicated professionals who can continue their passion to teach from around the world.

Our story

onlinechalk is the founders’ dream project. Coming from a family where several generations have been heavily involved in academia, Garima and Roli realized teaching isn’t just another job–it’s part of who they are as people! Growing up their favorite classes were those with engaging teachers-and it greatly affected how well (or poorly) either did at school. This helped shape their thoughts about teachers who make lessons exciting or boring; there are those you want sitting next to your desk every day (like yours truly!) versus others that can be safely ignored during class time.

Interestingly this also maps out onto what onlinechalk will be for you: if your grades depend on finding good teachers that match YOUR learning style then we’ve got an amazing thing here folks!!

Our team

CO-FOUNDER

Garima is a Microbiologist by training and is a passionate teacher. She has over 10 years of teaching experience across the globe. She plays a vital role in shaping the direction and long-term vision of the company. She is a key member of the leadership team and works closely with the other co-founders and stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy.

CO-FOUNDER

Roli is an Architect by training and is a Global MBA student and a Forte Fellow at The George Washington University. She has a strong understanding of the industry and market trends, and she identifies opportunities for growth and expansion. She is adept at analyzing data and making informed decisions, and is able to balance the needs of the business with the overall goals of the company.

ACADEMIC APPLICATION STRATEGIST

Amrita holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School and brings more than 13 years of distinguished experience in technology delivery and business development within the financial services sector. She is recognized for her fervent commitment to guiding and empowering aspiring individuals and holds significant emphasis on the value of mentorship. Additionally, Amrita serves as an esteemed advisor to a fast growing startup.
